DOAD Film is a Berlin-based media production company founded by accomplished artists Rıfat Şungar and Alpan Esen. Drawing on backgrounds across different areas of media, the duo is united by a shared belief in the emotional power of cinema and in character-driven storytelling that speaks to wide audiences.
Rıfat Şungar
After graduating from the Istanbul Conservatory, Rıfat made his acting debut at Cannes with Nuri Bilge Ceylan's Three Monkeys. Since then, his work has screened at major international festivals including Cannes, Venice, and Berlinale. In parallel with his acting practice, Şungar develops film projects. Dreaming of a Dream marks the beginning of his work behind the camera.
Alpan Esen
Alpan has worked as a copywriter and creative director in Istanbul and Berlin, leading international brand campaigns recognised at major award festivals such as Cannes Lions, The One Show, and New York Festivals. After many years on commercial sets, he decided to step into filmmaking. Dreaming of a Dream marks his first step into directing.
