Synopsis               

Set in 1990s Berlin, Dreaming of a Dream follows Kerem, a  sensitive 12-year-old Turkish boy on the edge of adolescence. Under the moral watch of his fiercely loving mother, Kerem wrestles with desire and shame as he encounters the unspoken codes of masculinity shaped by family, faith, and football.

Directors’ Statement

Dreaming of a Dream explores the subtle but formative moment when innocence fades and the seeds of lifelong struggle are planted. As two male creators, we often find ourselves circling back to the themes of masculinity and vulnerability. Our first short film has been our way of exploring it.
